Gita Vata León
Gita Vata León, flutist and teacher, is originally from the Canary Islands, Spain. She graduated from her bachelor’s degree at Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the highest grade of her class, and pursued a master’s degree at the same institution with professors Kersten McCall, Vincent Cortvrint and Mariya Semotyuk.
She is a second price winner in the Youth Competition of the International Bach Festival and a semi-finalist in the Dutch International Flute Competition.
Gita is a versatile multidisciplinary artist. She incorporates movement and singing in her performances, often collaborating with fellow artists to create new and authentic concert programes.
As a pedagogue, Gita is enthusiastic and energetic. Her motivation to teach makes her a very fun teacher who is pleased with her students' achievements and improvements.
Gita is also co-founder and Artistic Director of OnAlti Academy, an institution that organizes international music courses held in The Netherlands. These events attract young musicians from all over the world and offer lessons from musicians from The Concertgebouw Orchestra, Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Hochshule Luzern and many other orchestras/conservatories.
